The “SME Pack” application, created by METAPOSTA, has been selected as a finalist for the Fundetec 2011 awards within the category of best project of a non-profit entity designed for SMEs, micro companies and the self-employed. “SME Pack” is an application designed by METAPOSTA for small and medium-size companies, institutions and intermediate entities (small town halls, sports federations, etc.), with the aim of saving costs in the sending of documentation to customers and employees. The application is free; payment is made only for the documents actually sent and it enables savings of up to 80% over the cost of regular postal charges. With the “SME Pack”, any company can pay its employees and send electronic invoices to its customers or orders to its suppliers via METAPOSTA, with complete online security and confidentiality.

The activities of the Fundetec Foundation for the Infotechnological Development of Companies and Society, focus on the analysis, encouragement, and dissemination and promotion of access to Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) among the public, business community and institutions. In this the seventh Fundetec award scheme, the foundation maintains its aim of recognising those activities that encourage the development of the Information Society and the use of ICTs by the public and SMEs.

In total, 229 projects from 16 autonomous communities (10 of them from the Basque Country) have taken part in this award scheme which is of great relevance in the Information Society at a national level. Four winners will emerge from all the projects presented, selected by a jury made up of figures of recognised prestige in the area of the Information Society. The winners will be announced during the presentation ceremony which will take place in Madrid on February 9 and will be streamed live via the following website: www.premiosfundetec.com.
